Summer storms hit five districts of Udon Thani province in the Northeast, damaging about 100 houses, and a district of Uthai Thani province in the Central, tearing down more than 50 houses, on Saturday night, according to media reports. In Udon Thani, the storms ravaged Nong Han, Prachak Silapakhom, Thung Fon, Ban Dung and Chaiwan districts, damaging 10-15 houses in each district. Hardest hit was Prachak Silapakhom district, where more than 50 houses were reportedly damaged. Pol Sr Sgt Maj Anantakul Phupanya, a Prachak Silapakhom police officer, said the storm, that occurred at about 5pm, swept away his home and resort, which was opened only a year ago. In Uthai Thani, two rounds of whirlwinds and hailstorms striked six villages in tambon Nam Rop, three in tambon Lan Sak, one in tambon Rabam and one in tambon Thung Na Ngam of Lan Sak district.
